The Vision
Restoring the old Lake Condah Mission Church will provide the impetus and avenue for engagement, practical reconciliation and healing between the indigenous and non-indigenous communities. Re-flooding Lake Condah will be a major project to restore the original wetland ecology and should assist in securing a year round supply of water.
Gaining National Heritage registration and finally World Heritage listing will be a major stimulus to the development of tourism and sustainable development. The area and its facilities will become a major centre for sustainable farming and tourism focusing on history, ecotourism, and learning.
The project will provide ongoing employment for many indigenous and non-indigenous people.
The project's strength is the commitment to the wide community involvement through a collaborative partnership.
