Lake Condah Mission

 

Captain Reg Saunders Memorial Plaque Unveiling

On August 6th, 2004, a memorial plaque was unveiled at Lake Condah Mission in memory of Captain Reg Saunders. The unveiling was organised by a group of Year 11 students partaking in the Community Dreaming Project from Heywood and District Secondary College.

Kakadu Cultural Exchange

In September 2004, approximately 25 youth aged 12-25 from Heywood and Portland, participated in a Cultural Exchange trip to the Northern Territory. 3 Supervisors plus 2 elders from the community also attended the trip.

Croc Fest - Swan Hill

In September 2004, a group of girls from Heywood and Portland choreographed a dance and took part in the Croc Festival at Swan Hill.

3on3 Basketball Comp - Shepparton

In November 2004, a group of youth from Heywood went to Shepparton to play in a 3on3 basketball comp. There was also breakdance lessons available at the competition.
